I am a soon to be 1st time truck owner. I am currently looking at an '07 F150 with 4.6L V8. I plan on towing with this truck (4000-5000lbs).
Can someone let me know how to determine if this truck is equipped with a "tow package"? It is equipped with a hitch and elec. hookup. Should/Does it have a transmission cooler? The current owner doesn't know. Anything else I should look for?
It has only 16K miles and looks like it has never towed or plowed.
Thanks
Mark
if it has the tow package there should be a tranny cooler in front of the condenser and radiator. you should also have the hitch as well as a 7 way round connection and a 4 way flat connection.
Most, if not all, of the 04-07s had a transmission cooler mounted in front and slightly lower than the radiator. Most tow packages had larger ones (there were a few that didn't).
The easiest indication is there will be a combination 4 pin and 7 pin socket alongside the receiver (aka hitch).
