Lower radiator hose connector crack

Lower radiator hose connector crack
While changing my oil last week I noticed a crack on the lower radiator hose connector, where the hose connects to the block. No leaking, but a two inch crack around the plastic connector. My 2011 truck is a job1 build in 2010. Others might want to inspect. My local dealer is replacing the $95 hose tomorrow.
Anyone else seen a crack in a radiator hose connector?
What questions should I ask to ensure proper refill of antifreeze and additives? Will they have to drain all?

Thanks for the posting this information. I just went out and checked mine and happy to report no cracks!
Each dealer and mechanic is subjective on how they would handle this one. Some drain the existing fluid into a pan and then put it back in. Some will put new fluid in. If you are close to your maintenance schedule recommended radiator fluid change, then I would have them replace the fluid and ask them if they can cover that under warranty.
I would also ask the mechanic if they use tap water or distilled water when filling the system back up. The two closest dealers to me take the city water right out of their hose which I would never do.

Thanks for the tips. I take her in tomorrow morning and I ask these questions. I would imagine they will trap and refill with old coolant as I am at 22,700 miles. However, I would like fresh fluid put back in. My dealership and service writers have always been really good to me. And they should as I have bought our last 5 vehicles there.
