Just wanted to show off our new purchase (brought it home Mon July 5) and what I've been doing with it. 2010 Escape XLT, Steel Blue Metallic, 4wd, V6, Sun & Sync, Cargo package, Remote start.
Stock front and rear (already removed the emblems from the hatch before I got a picture)
After the addition of pinstripes, a bull bar, Hella lights, and a Curt Class III hitch. All of this I installed in the past 3 days with the help of my fiance (this is primarily her car, though it will also serve as our long-distance vehicle).
More to come in the next week as parts roll in. Thanks for looking.
Our stock interior is Stone colored - a color that is so light that already we've been getting it dirty, so we bought and installed some CoverKing neoprene seat covers through Costco.com. Great price btw: $329.99. They are usually over $500 on other sites.
have you taken a long trip since you installed the seat covers? My wife has leather in her Grand Cherokee and the seats really make your back sweety wonder if it would be better with the covers.

Not yet, just installed them yesterday. I'm curious about how they'll be myself, as I haven't even driven it since we got them. My fiance drove to and from work with them today and she thinks they're better than the stock cloth, but we'll see the next time we take a real drive.

That is true it seems to me that my '97 Explorer wasn't as bad as the Jeep and it had leather also.Maybe somethings different? Our just don't remember it as bad.Wondering if the covers would be better.
My gawd she is a stunner!!! Our 2010 is also steel blue but a Limited 4X2. So far so good with no new car bugs but only 4k miles so far. Comfortable ride and "up to" 30mpg highway. Calculated highway at 72~mph is 25-27 mpg. Good luck with both of them beauties!

Just got home from a 3800 mile in 2 weeks trip (traveled to Northern CA to get married and came home the long way on our honeymoon) and I can report that the seat covers are very comfortable and rarely cause a sweaty back.
I must say that this is one of the most comfortable long distance vehicles I've owned. Though we often wished we had a little bigger rig, the Escape worked wonderfully. Very happy to say that we averaged about 26 mpg the entire trip.
