03 Escape, rubber odor
Have an 03 Escape with about 92K, never had a drop of problem with this car, it has been great, just routine maintenance. I notice a smell coming from engine area when car has been running. It smells like rubber, maybe a hose, I've done a visual the best I can and don't see anything. The coolant level looks fine. Could it be something electricl going bad? In maybe an unrelated issue, I have now discovered a very small oil leak coming down under the bottom of the oil pan. I've wiped the area clean and have tried to trace it, but the area is pretty tight and can't get a good visual. it is a very small leak, maybe I get 1 drop a day. I know the car is getting up there, but I'd like to keep it going. Any help would be great.
