spark plug question

I have been reading a lot on here about spark plugs coming out of the V10. Do they back out or do they actually strip the treads out of the head and blow out, if that is the case how do you fix it if it happens. I was going to put new plugs in my new used truck 145,000 mi but it runs fine so maybe I should leave it alone. Can you drive it a little ways if one does come out. This whole spark plug thing makes me a little nervous about my new purchase. 99 V10 f-350

It means they strip out the plug hole. It can be fixed relatively easy with a helicoil most of the time. I don't know for sure, but I have heard that the blowout is caused by improperly torqued plugs. So if you do plan to replace them, definitely use a torque wrency and follow the manual torque specs.

if you dont know the history of your truck is prolly a better idea to get them out and install fresh motorcraft plugs..

then you know they are installed right and are fresh..
