Speaking of which ... "switching to GM" ...
OK guys sit down and hold onto your hats. I called one of the Hendricks Chevy dealers and one of the GMC dealers in the ATL area. I have bought three new Ford trucks in the last 18 years, but this time I am at least going to look at what they have. Don't get me wrong, I mean my screen name is FORDTUF and been a Ford man all my life.

But here's what's weird, they don't even have a 2010 or 2011 D-max that I can test drive!! They told me I would have to drive about 30 miles to a dealer closer to town that had an LT (not the LTZ version) with an Allison tranny.

So I was wondering if anyone has heard the rumor about GM (government motors) stopping production of Chevy trucks and only offering GMC trucks. I know their 95% the same truck, givr or take.

You would think they would go Chevy only, Better brand Recognition they sell like 5 to 1 chevys. That being said for the last few months (around here) there has been no 8 lug Chevys or GMCs on the local lots. I don’t know if those are special order or not.

Smile Drifting off topic........

I totaled my '03 6liter about a month ago and started looking for a replacement. I had minor problems with the 6.0 early on (8 injectors), but after that it was a great motor. The new diesel just seams like a headache to operate and maintain, and with the price of diesel versus gas, I decided to try the Boss 6.2l I wanted to go back to cloth and vinyl, as leather just doesn't last in the working world. My local dealer did a search and found 6 or 8 trucks, and we ended up with the truck in my signature.

I have pulled my dump trailer with 3 ton (18,000 total gross) twice now and averaged 10mpg. I have made a few 40mile trips and it is averaging 14-15 mpg. This is comparable to the 6.0L when it was running the stock program. I have only filled it 1 time and it was almost identical miles per tank as what my diesel was.

My wife and I both have been adjusting to the new turn signal feel, the tilt telescoping wheel, and the massive headrests. We are really happy with the new truck and will see what happens.

You paid cash for a truck but can't afford a lawyer?

I think the Chevy GMC ratio varies depending on your area, up here I see more GMCs than Chevy's. I think GM has the 1/2 ton market wrapped up, if they offered a solid front end in a 3/4 ton I would have never slummed it by buying a ratty old Ford My truck has almost 1K if I listen close I bet I can hear it rust

I totally would agree. Thing is though, I have seen a lot of commercials for the new Sierra, but not the Chevy. Perhaps there is a little validation to it. Somebody should write GM and ask them what the deal is... their address is 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington D.C.

On another note, they were claiming that the new Sierra has more power than the SD with just under 400hp.

Did you know that 87% of all GM trucks built after 1990 are still on the road today?

The other 13% made it home.

F350 loaded XLT, 4X4, 3.73, 6.2 gasser, 3500 miles, and zero problems.

Amazing truck. Moved up from a 2003 5.4 F150 7700 and there is absolutely no comparison in luxury, performance, etc.

16mph ave highway miles which I feel is awesome for a truck this size. I was lucky to get 12 from my 5.4 150.

I haven't towed yet but put 1000 lbs of bagged mulch in the back recently and the only thing I noticed was that the truck rode slightly better. Otherwise, didn't know it was there.

Sorry about the guy with the oil leak but one bad truck doesn't make them all bad.

After reading several forums there are just a few little quirks. There is a slight hickup in the gear change between 2nd and 3rd, some dome lights, and a few other little things.

I paid cash for mine, and if I REALLY had a problem with it, I'm sure the dealership would work with me.
