Well, I came to a point in my life that I thought I'd never reach. I loved my 6.0L and never planned on getting rid of it, but I had to make a financial decision on whether to keep it and spend a bunch of money to keep it going or trade it for something requiring less work. The last 2 trips to the dealer cost $1,000/each to fix the oil leak that I've been chasing for 2.5 of the 3 years I've owned it and oil was still hitting the driveway. I also had rust rotting out over the driver side rear wheel well and below the rear passenger side door. My wife and I are talking about moving further away from my work, so I'll be putting more miles on the truck and not wanting to be towed again (been towed twice recently) came into play. The big concern is that I will be travelling through a large area without cell cover. I mulled all of this over for about a month and finally decided a trade was justified no matter how much I loved my truck. So, I traded my 2003 6.0L in for a 2010 F-150 XLT Super Crew with the 5.4L. After looking around at used ones, I decided to spend an extra $2,000 and just get a brand new one with no miles. I appreciate all of the help and advice you guys have given me over the years; thank you. I'll be spending my time over in the F-150 group from now on.
I do have some parts that I'll be posting for sale up in the Classified section. I have oil filters, an '08 rear diff cover, coolant filters, and '05 upfitter switches. I can't remember what else, but I'll post a link here when I get them listed.
Hope you come back and visit occasionally like D8 does. Personally I appreciate all your participation here and the help on the spreadsheet distribution.
I have copies of applicable TSB's to the 2010 F150 if you are interested.
I hauled a trailer to Vancouver Is. British Columbia this week and had a chance to look at the new 150's. In Canada some of them were 75K. Good luck with your new baby!
Thanks guys. I'm going to make the most of it. I haven't had a brand new truck since 2001. I'm going to get some pics up in the gallery at some point; I just need to take some first.
Mark, I'd love a copy of the TSBs. That would be awesome. I plan on stopping through to check in and, actually, I enjoy helping with the spreadsheets so I'll keep lending a hand with that. Just don't forget to send me updates on those.
