Can someone please refresh my memory as to the orientation of the motor mounts on a 65 FE. Are the two block bolts on the front/leading edge of the single perch bolt (ie placing the motor forward) or is the perch bolt found first, placing the motor back?
Thanks gang, --Mike
I have looked on my '66 F100 with a 352. But, I am not sure I understand your question.
There are two bolts into the block (one above the other) that attach each motor mount. I think there is only one way they can go. The single perch motor mount bolt goes thru the middle of the mount and bolts to the middle of the perch.
Now, this is a guess, there are some additional holes in the frame adjacent to the perch that I suppose could be confusing you and look like the motor location could be shifted forward/back. If those are the ones in question, then leave the front holes unused. That effectively would make the engine mounted closer toward firewall.
OR, if you could clear up what you are looking for, it might help with an answer.
Thank you for checking. The two bolts that go through the mount and into the block. Are they in line ahead of the single post that goes through the perch (mounting the motor back), or are they behind it, mounting the motor forward.
