Cargo Light?

I have a cargo lamp in my 1978 F-150 4x4, I removed it to see what type of bulb was in it, considering changing it to a thrid brake light, anyway, the part # on the assy got my attention, (C7TB-15550-A ) I understand the decade letter and year # but can anybody tell me if this is the correct # for a cargo light, it looks good, but it has LH on it also, which makes me think it is a parking lamp, it has a clear lense. Thanks for reading.

Cargo Light?

Is your cab the original 78 cab? Because the part number that you posted is fo the cargo lights that were used in the 67-76 trucks. 77-79 used a smaller light, about 3 inches x 2 inches. the older lights are about 5-6 inches long by 1.5-2 inches high. I hope this helps.

Yes, the cab is the original, truck build date was, 01/78, the door jamb label is there, and door tag also state of Arizona tag, all look undisturbed. I wonder why this lite assy, would have (LH) left hand designation, on it. I would like to purchase a new rubber mounting pad for this. Also the holes drilled for the light are correct, there are no other mounting holes there, or evidence of another set of holes being soldered or mudded over.
