Rear diff leaking at tube

I have a 1990 bronco with an 8.8 rear end just recently i noticed leakeage from the overflow tube of the rear end. i took it to the shop and they found nothing wrong. Does anyone have any ideas what could make it leak, it seems to be worst when the truck is parked on a hill, when on flat ground no leakage.

is it coming out of the end of the hose or at the base where it is hooked to the axle? is your rearend over full of oil?

It probably got water in it, displacing the oil. I'd pull the cover and see what's up.

My mechanic checked and said no water, it is coming out of the end where the plastic cap is.

HOW did he check? SOMETHING is either filling the axle and displacing the oil, OR causing the ring gear's splashing to pump the oil into that side of the tube and out the cap. Either way, I think you have to pull the rear cover (and change the oil) to find out.

Have you checked the level at the fill plug?
