Random questions

ok, so I have a few or so random questions, no desire to waste bandwidth.

I am going to be getting a 4" lift for my 1989 Ford F150 5-spd 4x4.
I do NOT have the proper tools to do the job, and I refuse to risk ruining my truck.

How much have you guys paid to have one installed on your truck?

I am looking to do a 351W/ZFS542 swap into my truck at some point.
I see myself needing the following.

*351W Motor
*ZF Trans
*Applicable ECU
*Proper Sized Drive lines
*Transfer Case Shifter (if my current is not the right size)

Am I missing anything?

On the lift, I installed my 6" unit out in the street in front of the house with a buddy, but we do install them at my work for about 450 (6 hours labor at $75 an hour shop rate)

As far as the motor/tranny goes. You will also need
*A new starter for a MANUAL transmission (there is a difference in the casting)

*of course, flywheel

*you already have a 5spd in it, so the x-member will be the same

*make sure the ZF is from a 4X4 truck, the tailshaft is different and you have to tear the whole trans down to swap it over

*I didn't need a different shifter with my swap for my transfer case

*Depending on what year you get the engine from, you may need to make some exhaust mods....when I did mine, the angles of the manifolds did not match up to the Y-pipe of the 302.

*Depending on how you want to do you floor, you can either just cut a new hole for the ZF shifter, or go to your local salvage yard and get the right center floor pan

*Clutch pedal w/bracketry.....once you decide if you're going mechanical or hydraulic (I recommend the hydraulic)

*A full set of hand tools, a cherry picker, torque wrench, drill, some know-how, and a flexible body to bust your knuckles with

all I need now is a parts truck, and an extra hand for a few days.
