never seen American Pickers.. what is it about?
I almost hesitate to ask..
I am almost sure someone is going to say "its about picking your nose" or something similar, and if someone from this group didn't say that I would be highly disappointed.

No wait its about going to the movies-- and PICKING YOUR SEAT!!!!!!!!!
Pickin' and Grinin'? Pickin' the banjo- lessons in the lost art of bluegrass music?
Pickin a Winner the national bugger pickin' contest?
(BTW- I have a good buggar eatin story for you guys sometime--- actually Rivials "Peacans")
The show is actually about two guys that drive around the country and go to peoples houses, store, garages, and buy stuff that most people think is junk. Then they sell it and sometimes they make a profit-- sometimes they get rooked. It's all a big gamble. Some of the people they meet are pretty funny some are weird and some are downright creepy. The two guys have been friends forever so they make bets and pick on each other. Some of the stuff they find is pretty cool. and some is junk. I was seriously going to send them an email about Merlin Menhusin in Jewell!

They came out and seen our farm in Franklin, KS after they hit up Fort Scott and gave us some good advice for our upcoming auction. We went ahead and made a website to sell some of the stuff online, but there's just so much, I think even Mike and Frank were overwhelmed!

If you missed the episode (or don't have cable!) History Channel put the full shows of them on their website, here is the link to the video from their site;
You guys should watch it if you're into old cars and trucks, they find some cool stuff and their very knowledgeable about what they find, even really old obsolete stuff, Mike and Frank are both motorcyclists too.
I don't know how they found it in all our junk but they even found a hat pin made by an old car manufacturer called Viele (only made 1909-1928 I think), he was the grandson of John Deere.

Thanks guys, oh yeah, having the Pickers out was a lot of fun, they said they were in Missouri on the show, but I guess we're pretty close to the state line. They weren't too interested in the old trucks and cars we had, I think they focus more on stuff they can put in their van and motorcycles. What's funny too, is they're from Iowa, so a lot of the typical Kansas farm antiques they've seen before and is fairly common to them, so they're not as interested in them. In all that stuff, they found that little Viele hat pin, I just think that's crazy. They definitely have a good eye for things.
Great episode, love that show. Can't beat the offer on that coke clock when you offered $10 and he retaliated with a $70 offer! Looks like a couple of great guys, congrats on the hollywood spotlight and welcome to FTE
