10* BTDC is what he said in post 9, however no timing curve specs.

With the vacuum advance disconnected, he should still have centrifugal advance, and electronic advance from the ignition module depending on if he has a DS-II setup or a TFI-IV. If he has a TFI-IV ignition, a DS-II conversion would be a wise thing to do.
