Im looking at a 99 f350 with the v10 automatic 4x4 has a lift with 35's under it 141k sharp truck is it better to have the 3.73 or the 4.30 gears what kind of highway mileage should i expect i would think with 35's and 3.73 gears it ought to keep the rpms down i know a few guys who have the v10 and like them thier all one tons and one gets 11 and the other get 16-18. anything else i should look out for that aint common sense
thanx
My 2000 Crew Cab V10 has a 5 speed manual with 4.30 gears and 34" tires and about 142,000 miles on it. I get about 14MPG highway at the speed limit of 55 and she's turning right on 2,000 RPM.
I think with 35" tires and 3.73 gears you will be under-geared, meaning you will have to put more throttle to it to get up to speed, and your mileage will suffer. You can probably expect about 10 MPG on the highway.
Well the guy told me that it dnt have 35's its got 37 with 8 inches of lift but he didnt know wut gears it has its a nice truck i told him if he put 35's on it id prolly buy it good idea bad idea? im lookin to get 12 or 13mpg i relize its a v10 in all and its a five hour drive to get it
