Brian,
I was invited to pit with a bunch of Y block guys this year. I think that rather than race and break something so close to the Y block nationals (Labor day weekend) I may bring the red Bigwindow for the show on Saturday.
Have to pick up another 56 this weekend. It is free. Owner just wants it gone. Have to go to wifes family reunion nearby....so this gives me a good reason to leave early...LOL
''Earl''.....is getting fitted with his cab and front end this coming week. I still cannot believe someone didn't snap him up. I love that yblock. It is smooth as silk. The engine will get repainted.....(mask and shoot) and the frame will get a topcoat...then he will be on the road.
That thing is just perfect! Having seen it in person it is just beautiful!
I'm just glad its not one of those "Mask and shoot jobs" You see guys do that, and say they have "restored" their truck, LOL!
Thanks Bigwin, you need to stop by and check it out, no mask and shoot job here! I worked day and night to get that thing back together, but it was worth it. now we need to get that hot y-block in my other unibody. I need to post some pics of my green unibody.
Nothings nicer than new window rubbers and NO paint on them! You dont get that with a mask and shoot job! I really enjoyed helping install the glass, probably my most favorite job to do on a "Restoration"
The hot Y will go nicely in the green Unibody. After we put the engine in just go and buy a 12 pack of masking tape and we could have my buddy come over and shoot it then you'll have 2 "restored" trucks LMAO!
Actually I'd leave the green one with the cool patina like it is, its cool NOW

I'll stop by sometime this weekend
Yea Bigwin, no way would I paint MEAN GREEN its too cool the way it is! look at me giving my truck a name, that is so lame LMAO!
Just drove ''Earl'' to the beach....LOL
across the road is the beach and yesterday it was crowded as it was 90 degrees or more.
We had Earl loaded with chairs and cooler and 4 of us, and cruised over there and wow...it was definately fun and exciting!!!
Shifted into 2nd and 3rd ...and ran fine but wife almost fell off as we turned to park.
Would be cool to drive through GOTL before the tin gets installed!!!
I would have to have police follow me.....and make sure we are not going to have any problems.
Went and picked up another 56 Friday in Perrysburg Ohio. Nice bed and a few other goodies!
Truckrod,
I went and looked at the 56 you told me about and there is a 53-55 big job in the back at the same place. Nobody home but I have contact info from the next door neighbor. With the leaves on the trees it is very hard to find!
My wife and I are still laughing when you pulled out of the drive yesterday, I cant believe you grabbed a hand full of second in the green unibody! I guess it is MEAN!
How did you like the truck we bought for our oldest daughter? She LOVES IT!
Went to Norwalk on Saturday it was fun and it didn't rain just hot but a really good breeze blowing thru some nice 53-55 Pick ups and some 63-66.Planning next on the blue suede cruise. any one else?
Looking at another 56 today. Seems they are coming out of the woodwork. Need to start the new blast cabinet I got from George and blast some large objects for my numerous trucks .
Sold a enclosed trailer.....22' and need to clean it out.
Wife is building brick walks out back from deck and hauling bricks from an old torn down school. She actually sandblasted some parts and likes it!!! LOL
Have 2 high school grads that want to do some grinding and learn painting....so see how this turns out. Maybe I will have them stack wood(split) and see if they last doing that!!!! haha
