need some help here

this is for the people who been here a while...there was a guy who used heavy duty coils from napa on the front of his truck to level it out...does anyone remember who it was? he drove a 2wd 95 f-150 300/5speed short box dark red i think...i wanna ask him if it added much height to the front. i wanna get the front lifted about 2" (enough to level it out) and throw 33"s on eventually. gotta do it the budget way cuz ima poor high skewl student...thanx in advance

2" is gonna make a big change in your alignment, but a junkyard will sell you the springs MUCH cheaper than NAPA. You'll have to hunt a while longer to get them, but you'll $ave $ome ca$h.

grrr...i wanna fit 33"s and have some flex left for off-roadin without gettin a lift. what about spacers? im not worried about allignment cuz with Pa roads it'll be knocked all outta wack by the end of winter (might be now actually haha). potholes suck...

Spacers give you a worse ride and LESS articulation. They're the WORST way to lift a truck because they can also concentrate stress and break the spring. Firestone will sell you good tires and a lifetime alignment - check into it!

I searched the forums to try & help you out. Look in suspension, tires, & wheels in the thread "Effects of using slightly heavier rated coil springs" posted by Ford SIX. It was last updated 12-06-02. See if this is what you are looking for. I hope this helps.

ya, thats what i was lookin for. i still dont know what to do with this. i might go for the HD coils but might wanna try using the leveling coils and adding a leaf to the rear to give it a little more stance...its time to check for leveling coil kits from lift manufactors and ill get back to y'all

came up with some research and the here it is:
Skyjacker makes a lift 2"/1.5"
Rough Country makes 1.5" leveling coils-$129.00
Superlift makes 1-2" leveling coils w/ alignment bushings

now i figure around 100-150 for new front springs, so would going with just leveling coils and alignment bushings be the best bet? or should i just go with HD springs? im really confused

This should help. I have a buddy that is buying these.

EXP-24412

A smoother ride.

This set of Explorer Pro Comp lift springs gives you the extra ground clearance you need without sacrificing ride quality. It gives you a smooth ride and still responds great when subjected to off-road conditions. It also adds approximately 4 in. to the ride height.

They claim up to 4" of exta height can't beat that for the money. Sorry it was so long it was the easiest way to explain the springs.
Good luck, Dan

thanx, but i think 4" might be a little to much.thats a sweet deal tho. stupid question but i just got rancho RS5000s all around and if i do get the leveling coils and even an add a leaf will i need new shocks? or will these still be ok...

also from what i got outta gamma article is that almost all springs used were the same except with A/C (which i think is just a different name). and they used the HD in the supercab models. now my question is did they used any different spring in the suspension package (2 shocks up front, etc...)...

also i saw a 96 f-150 at a parking lot and when i pulled up next to it, his front end seemed about 2" taller than mine in the front, was thier a special package beside the suspension package that offered a higher front?

ok now that i confused y'all, the main reason for wanting to do this is i want to run 33x10.50x15 or 33x12.50x15 cuz i seen where u just level the front out and they'll fit without any major problems. thanx

just a personal opinion, but 33x10.50s and 33x12.50s will look better and fit better with a 4 inch lift. 2 inches they might fit, the 10.50s will definitely fit, but they will be stuffed under there. 32x11.50s with 2 inch coils looks sweet too. i saw a truck like that yesterday in the parking lot it was real pretty. lots of options
