I'm shopping for a Excursion and noticed one with a sunroof....I've never seen that before on an Excursion...was that an available option from the factory...
Here's the truck...seems a little pricey...but looks good....

Any sunroof on an Excursion is an aftermarket installation, they never came as an option on an Excursion.
And the price is out of line because it's a trouble prone 6.0 diesel.
Ok...thanks for that info VaSheriff....I don't know about troubleprone...but it seemed kinda pricey for a 5 year old truck with 100+ k miles...but after looking around it appears that the prices for the diesels are all over the place...I saw a 2005 with 88k for 35k...I'm trying to get my head around why they are so pricey...especially when you can get gas models for way less than 10k...I don't get it...
I remember reading about someone doing a comparison between the two and figured it would take 80k(?) of driving before you would break even with the diesel, considering the price premium and maintenance costs, before any fuel cost savings would take effect compared to the gas model.
It sounds pricey to me too, but most of their "options" that are listed are not options but std features, also several are listed multiple times.. I mean how many times must wheels be listed (i.e. premium wheels, alloy wheels, chrome wheels, and oversized 20" chrome wheels, also tilt steering, and tilt steering column are both listed). Sounds like they're trying to pork up the option list to make it match the high price. Just my opinion, if you do buy, I would have it checked out by a local shop you trust.

Yay! People are quoting me. (I feel honored. Thanx!) I've posted my findings in a few previous diesel vs. gas threads, and those numbers said it would take between 175K and 192K miles before any savings could be realized. And I'm long tired of a vehicle before I've gone that miles.
Those calculations were done in 2003. When one considers the price difference nowadays, the diesel Ex makes no sense at all unless one does a lot of heavy towing. Regardless, I still "want" a truck without spark plugs ... I just can't justify it.
I've been thinking of selling my V10 4WD EB X, but after looking at what the market has to offer, I think I'll just keep it (unless I can find a good deal on a used F150 Raptor).
Seems like this guy is trying to cash in on some of the aftermarket modifications he put into it. You have to look at it as a plain stock vehicle because when YOU want to resell it, that's what it will be compared to in the KBB.
Use the KBB as a starting point in your negotiations. If you like the sunroof option, you can get a different used Ex and have one installed...far cheaper than what this guy is asking for.
ea, had preferred the diesel for gas mileage and other reasons...I won't be paying for anyone's lift kits or any other aftermarket accessory...especially a moonroof...that's a big no-no...
Looking for a fairly clean one that hasn't been ran into the ground...

I don't mind the V-8 so much...even with it's problems...after all it is a used vehicle and you have to expect to fix something, plus if you know about the problems sometimes preventive work can be done...besides anything I buy I'm going to redo shocks, tires, springs and add a Navigational system...and now that I think about it makes the pricing even more ridiculous...LOL
When I see a truck tricked out like that I get one impression. Don't know about you guys but I'd wager the previous owner is in the county lockup, or worse.
