trying to do ac mod, need help finding a part

my truck is a 1997 turbocharged diesel. got the 1996 explorer vacuum controlled heater valve, some 1/8 inch vacuum hose and a few packs of various vacuum fittings. my problem is the vacuum lines under the glove compartment are way too small for any barb type tee i have found. ive read of some sort of rubber vacuum line adaptors but the guy at autozone had no idea what they were. can anyone please post a link for whatever i need to buy to connect the tiny vacuum line to 1/8 inch vacuum line via a tee. hopefully its something napa autozone, or knects carries at the moment i used some rubber things that were too loose and tried to seal with silicone, im sure all ive most likely done is create a vacuum leak, but id already cut the white vacuum line and had to try something. thank you for any help or advice

See if this helps you. Sorry if it doesn't. I'm feeling kind of lazy and didn't read through the whole thing.

Joined in 2008 and today is your first post? I had the same problem you described. I took a couple of vacuum plugs and drilled out the end to where the cut factory line could just be shoved inside of it. Then I used the smallest T from what's probably the same pack you have. The vacuum plug works as a good coupler. It may not be 100% air tight, but any leaks it may have are easily overcome by the vacuum pump. The vacuum is not that strong, and I've had no issues with mine being done this way.

thats a good idea thank you. i believe i have it sealed ok now, i used a slightly too large rubber connector and sealed it with silicone. i think i had the coolant lines plumbed in wrong and re did those also. i will re test later today.
i am not much of a mechanic so no i dont post much but have done ALOT of reading, i browsed here for at least 6 months, before i even decided on what diesel to get. i was even able to help my brother who is a pretty good mechanic with a problem by reading here. thank you all very much.
