Saving the bee is indeed a worthy goal, it is in serious trouble and so will we
"bee" if they disappear. Much less is being done about it than the spending on researching "global warming" (a cyclic weather phenominon NOT a man made event IMHO), and UFOs.
You're worried about Dick? Look at some of the hare-brained ideas posted on the Pepsi site! Hell, look at Congress!
Ya got me there Ross!

Shoot, it's such a "push me/pull you" kind of thing. One day you hear the horror stories about how the "killer bees" are migrating north and will kill us all, and the next you hear they are all dying.
I think the solution is for me to have a beer. (although, since I do have ranch property and lots of bee liking trees and plants, maybe I'll see about making the place a little more bee friendly)
Does it help if I try not to run them over with my Kobota zero turn while mowing?
Who was it that made it "mandatory" to have to mow grass? A natural setting will allow grass to grow about 18" and then it stops all by itself. Weeds on the other hand, lol. Usually every summer I have to battle a hornet's nest or two, but this year, I've seen none. Ant hills have taken over though.
Killer bees and native honey bees are two different animals (pun intended). The honey bee is the one in trouble, killer bees seem to be immune to the plague attacking the native bee colonies, but killer bees are not as proficient pollenators or honey producers as the native bees.
There is an area of about 4 acres behind my yard - 1 acre of native ground cover (weeds) this whole thing is surrounded by homes where just about everyone has multiple flower beds and gardens. It has been about 3 years since I stirred up a ground hive and at least 8 yrs since iv'e called the Bee Guys to capture a swarm.
If those little buggers don't pollunate - we don't populate.
mother nature is culling the herd an' we are next on the list ..don't you watch national geografic show. between astaroids ,super volcanos, global warming and the next ice age..we don't get to stay!! oh , an yes this has all happened before it is just nature's way of house cleaning..a beer does sound good now..happy 4th guy's
I have been a registered Bee Keeper in the state of Ohio for 8 years. I went from 12 hives in 2008 down to one this summer. I truly believe the end is near. The first thing to leave the lost city of Atlantis was the bees!
I think that cell phone usage is destroying the bees ability to navigate.
