to heavy for my tastes. if i put a different bumper on my truck i'll build another like my rear out of 4"x4" 1/4" wall square tubing and have a air tank front and back then.
Those Roo guards are not a joke, they need to be that massive and its not just for the outback. Ever hit a big red at 70 MPH? neither have I, thank god! But thats a big tough, stringy peice of meat that will tear the roof clean off anything but a heavy duty vehicle.
Keep in mind most of them are made of aluminum instead of steel so they need the larger cross section to reach the same strength as steel. I am starting to see similar front guards on big rigs here in canada lately......can't say for sure if the blood stains and deer shrapnel on the freeway are related LMAO (I don't like deer).

Ali Arc makes bumpers like those you see on your highways, and yes the deer remains are directly related to them guards - I hit a buck once doing 80mph in a Kodiak equipped with a similar bumper and it quite literally exploded into pieces, blood all over the front of the truck but no damage to anything so we just kept on trucking.
I want to get something pretty beastly for my truck, first of all for look, 2nd just to get some extra lighting, and third.... Well the recent convo and this video explains it.
If your squeamish don't watch. If you enjoy your venison? Enjoy. explodey da doe
I drive a truck for a living. One late night, out by Shenanadoah, Iowa, deer was just covering the road. Probably 30 animals. I was slowed wayyy down and flashing my lights, hi beam to low beam, to try to scare them to bolt off the road. A guy in a brand-new Ford Mustang, who didn't have a clue, decided to pass me, gunning it as hard as he could, blew his horn and gave me the middle fingered salute. He blew right into the herd at about 80. It was poetic justice.

Nice. I don't usually drive at night but if I did on a regular basis, I would consider building a deer splitter. I always figured those guards on he front of police cruisers were for taking out vehicles that were fleeing, but after seeing this, there are other uses as well.

But did the mustang make it?
No big loss if it was anything between the mid 70s - 2004 though.

Yeah I agree, although I kinda fancy the 99+, ford really dropped the ball on the mustangs for a long, long time. I would never drive one of those things... When the mustang looks similar to a Toyota Camry we have a problem...
[edit] The police crown vic's have the added Deer busting power, of having that bar reinforced by extra support all the way down the frame, so that it can handle impact that much better[/edit]
Yeah that and the fact that the crown vic actually has a frame. The last of a generation of real cars and I'll be sorry to see it go. (brave words for some one that owns a saturn)
As a car, the fox body is ok looking for a car that was made with the fuel crisis and angles of the early 1980s in mind......but its not a real mustang in my view (and I know I'll offend many mustang owners for that era). The 2004 model was a nice step in the right direction. 1969 mach 1 is a real mustang in my view.
The neighbor across the street as what I'm guessing is a pre 1993 mustang with a well fed 5.0L. Pretty nice car, but still pales to the original from the 60s. But again, thats only my opinion. Whats funny is those angled lines were supposed to be for aerodynamics according to the ads back then.
Sorry. It WAS a 2006 Ford Mustang GT. It was a total loss. There wasn't a straight piece of bodywork on the car, radiator got ate by the fan, and a deer's *** was sitting on the roof.
