I've been fighting with this for a while truck idle's and cruise down the road fine but if i get into the go pedal more than half way it dogs down but if i back off just a little then it will get up and go. oil and all filters have been changed, cleaned FPR, fuel pressure is at 63psi took my chip out and it still does it but it's even worst in the higher settings. could my fuel pump be dropping pressure under a load. should the fuel pressure drop or raise when you give it the go pedel waht shoul i be looking at next
If it was the HPOP i thought i would have a hard or longer start time but it fires as soon as i hit the key or could it have pressure down low and just not in higher RPM i'm going to put a 5000psi gauge on it this week is ti better to hook it to the HPOP or in the head and what pressures am i looking for.
3,000 lbs of pressure is usually the tops. Does your truck buck when its starts ******* down? Mine starting bucking indicting that I was running out of oil. A new 17* solved that but of course I just had to better that by getting the adrenaline!!
it does not buck it feel like a gaser when you smash on it and there's not enough gas.
but if i slowly give fuel all the way to the floor it's fine is it possable for the fuel pump to hold press at idle and crusieing speed but not build when i give the go pedaal
Yea, its possible, it might even be possible that my fuel pump was going out when I had the bucking. I went electric fuel about the same time I got a new HPOP. Well, that's it, you have to do both mods, there is no other way!!
OK, as long as you do the work! lol I wanted to help you more but I realized as I was typing that I did both mods at the same time. I was motivated at the time to clean up the valley by getting rid of the fuel filter, etc. and this would help me to put in the HPOP by providing more room to work. Hope you can figure it out.
Thanks all this back forth got my little wheel spinning so this week i'll get a gauge on the HPOP and FPR and see what i come up with and post back maybe it will be a cheap fix not a fat chance in h*ll
