Anybody know what trans came in the early 80's econoline 150 with a 302? I know it's an auto, but I'm hoping it's a C6 not a C4. TIA

A C4 is possible behind the 302 or 300. I believe the pan is shaped differently on the two transmissions. The C4 should have a square pan, the C6's isn't. Or look at the code on the door jamb label and post it here.

The C-6 has a non-removeable bell housing....the C-4 has a removeable bell housing....quite obvious.

I BELIEVE, not positive, that the c4 was in the E150's. I have seen nothing except c6's on E250's and up, and I can't rule it out on the 150, but I really believe that the c4 was dominant there, especially an early 80's, and almost definetelly if it is a short pass van, not a cargo van, or extended.
