Question 460 EFI performance enhancements

Man do I ever love the 93 F-250 I just bought. But of course you can never have too much power. I am looking into the K&N FIPK setup. Has anyone tried one of these? Are they worth the money? What other performance enhancements can you make to the 460 EFI? The engine has 137K so I don't want to do anything that will add to stress on the engine. Is there a chip available for this truck?
Thanks

I have a 1994 F-250 with the 460 and have just put on a set of L&L ultra-flow headers with dual exhaust, no cats, and the truck runs much better now there was definetly an improvement and they were well worth the money. I hope this helps.

That sounds great to me. I was looking at some Thorley headers wondering if they would be worth the cost. How do you get away with no cats? Aren't there electronics that monitor them? Since I live in an emissions check area I would never be able to get away with it long. I wonder if the headers would still be an improvement?

Thanks for your help.

Contact JMS...Johnson Motorsports. They can do you a custom chip to wake up that engine. The best thing performance wise is to port the heads and go 2.19/1.76 with the valves. Should be good for 50 hp gain depending on the head porter.

Other things to consider:
rearend gear change, port the stock intake,2800 stall, aluminum driveshaft, MSD ignition,....

I live in Montana and do not have to worry about emmission testing. The One oxygen sensor is located before the cat on the stock truck so you can leave the cat off and still get a good reading for the oxygen sensor. I placed mine after the cross over pipe, and have not made the computer mad yet. I also deleted the air-injection system. I would look into the L&L headers they are the best headers made out there, and fit very well. I have gotten lots of coments on them from peole that have been in the automotive business for 20+ years. There website is www.landlproducts.com Hope this helps some more.

I had a K&N FIPK on my truck, it helped a little but I didn't like the intake noise so I went back to the stock airbox. A set of California smog legal headers really helped out, very noticeable difference. I went with Hedmans, but thorleys are probably worth the extra $$$.
