My 77 400 suddenly overnite has developed an issue. At about 2500 rpm I get a loss of power.
I did rebuild the motor about 25,000 ago the carb around 5,000 mi ago I have owned this truck since 2004 never touched the distributor if I apply some human vacuum to the advance it moves. The module has been replaced with a napa model uc 40 sometime before I got the truck.
As I pulled the truck out of a backyard in 04 I'll guess that module might be kinda old. As it was time for some maintence anyway I have done plugs, cap, rotor, filters and wires. The plugs looked good a little white mabye, so I richned the mixture a quarter turn on each screw.
24 hours later the condition has changed. I richened the mixture an additional 1/4 beyond the 1/2 from yesterday. drove her into town for fuel varied my acceleration both smooth and steady into town and fairly hard 3800 rpm upshift 1st to 2nd on the way back about five miles each way. I really think I can still feel that power loss
