I ripped out the deluxe heater from my '64 today. In my opinion, it takes up too much interior space and really makes the passenger side feel cramped.
It works fine, and I saved all the pieces, just in case.......
Now I'm looking for a more compact heater (doesn't have to be designed specifically for our trucks, I can fab up some mounts and run lines, etc.) that I can tuck up under the dash. I don't mind if its a recirculating air type. Needs to accommodate defroster hoses though... Anyone have any good ideas or know of another model heater that would make for a nice custom swap?
Also, now that I have just an open vent in the passenger kick panel, where can I find the original swing door and cable to pop in there?
Well I just found one solution by Vintage Air. They sell a super compact heater with defroster for just under $250. The dimensions are 10" by 10" by 6"
