I have a 2002 Ranger XLT. A few days back i left my apt and when I got to my destination I turned off the truck and later it didn't want to turn back on. When i flip the key, the radio turns on and I hear the alarm notifying that the door is open but it wont start. I took it to the Ford and they told me first it was the key lost its programing. Then called me back that it wasnt that. Now they have no clue what it is. Im thinking maybe it is the computer. Any help? Im desperate!
Does the engine crank? I had a situation where my truck was dead, all electronics worked, but engine wouldn't crank and it turned out to be the starter. Good luck.
There was a guy in Las Vegas that was having problems with his Ford. It only happened at his house in Henderson. When he took it to the Ford Dealer the problem couldn't be duplicated so it didn't exist to Ford. He kept after them, and after them, and after them. Finally they checked out the vehicle at his house, and the problem appeared but they couldn't figure out why. Much investigation later, it turned out to be someone had left a spare transformer broadcasting on the nearby mountain which has all the TV, radio station broadcast antennas on it. Turned the transformer off and the problem disappeared, I think Ford covered the cost.
