Another 99 Econoline
I also have another 1999 E150, but this one has 4.6 v8 I believe. I am having transmission issues with this one. I just bought it a couple weeks ago and it started shuddering/bucking real bad as you decelerate coming off the interstate and such. It also occasionally has a hard time taking off when you give it gas from a stop, almost like it is not catching 1 first gear. Anyway had a couple transmission shops look at it and both recommended rebuilding it for about $2000. Can't really afford that right now, and feel like this may be over my abilities to rebuild so thats out. One shop suggested the guy I bought it from probably new of the issues because its full of additives. Anyway, any tips or suggests on anything I can do or try myself before I give up and have it rebuilt would be nice. I believe it has a 4r70w transmission in it but I am not certain. Thanks for any tips and advice.
