My '99 F250 V10 was recently hit by lightning and is in need of a new ECU. I am having trouble finding the exact part number and was wondering if the following would work:
Currently: XU2Z-12A650-AA
Found: XC3F-12A650-AYC
This replacement ECU is from a salvaged truck which looks to be an exact clone of mine, even down to the paint color. Why the different part numbers and will it work in mine?
Dunno if they are plug and play from the PNs, but as long as it is off the same truck with the same engine and transmission then yes, it should work fine. If not, your local Ford dealership can reflash it for your vehicle for around $80. Also, if your truck is a standard and the ECU is for an auto then this would not be an issue, but would not work the other way around as the ECU controls the transmission.
I am having kind of the same problem, 99 f-450 v10 5 speed. Ran excellent for 50 miles and then started missing so bad that I could barely keep it running. Changed PCM and no change. Not getting injector pulse to #2 cylinder, please advise
