Hi guys I bought a truck used and it didn't come with a jack, handles or the lug wrench. My owners manual says it should go under the super cab seat. For the life of me I can't see where it went. Can some one with a 05-07 super cab take a pic of where it goes? Thanks a ton
It was also missing the spare tire lok. I tried one out of a 03 but it didn't work. Are the keys based on the years or are there several different kinds per year. Mine is a rounded +
Lift up the bottom part of passengers back seat, there's a bolt in the floor and a big black bag. If you don't see it about .5 seconds after lifting the seat, then its not there. It's not something you miss, it's a 3ft by 8" bag. Jack tucks in the back cab corner by the lower seat belt bolt on the passenger side. If you can't see it by just looking into that corner, it's not there. I would go take a picture but my cab is filled with a pile of junk that really don't want to move in the dark. But trust me, you can't miss the handles, or the jack. Honestly, go buy a 20 ton bottle jack from wal mart, and a 21mm deep impact socket with a 24 inch breaker bar. That's better than the stock setup could ever be. If you need to stock stuff to drop the spare, check with your local junk yards or wrecking companies, because FoMoCo wants a lot more than they're worth.
Good luck with the spare key, because Ford doesn't support them anymore. I think there was something like 16 different keys made, used over a few years on the SDs. My dad just had the lock on his '07 replaced because he lost his key at some point, and the dealership had to cut out the whole old lock assembly out and put in an entirely different deal. It was done under warranty too, because the parts dept couldn't just order a new key, and we raised cane about paying $300 for a new winch because they wouldn't order what used to be a $15 key. If you talk to your service guy nicely and pay for the lock replacement, I'll bet they can find the right jack tools somewhere and slip them in the cab for you.
I bought a used 2006 F250. It didn't have a spare tire key either. I had them pry the lock off the crank mechanism. The crank handle works just fine without it. It beats paying $300 for a new lock & key, that I would probably lose anyway.
I also didn't get the Jack and Lug wrench when I bought my new to me truck. The part I need most is the part that goes into the winch socket to lower the spare. The dealer price is ridiculous robbery and they had to order it. One of the senior posters offered me the part but I am not able to PM yet so I can't reply to him.
well I went to the dealer and ordered the key....they said it will be 25 bucks. So I can't really complain and I went to a junkyard and found a jack and handles and lug wrench for 15 bucks. But I really would like to find a better spot to put it then on the floor in the super cab. I am going to use that spot for many other things(tools for work). I would like to retro-fit them behind the seat along with a tow strap and first aid kit. I will post some pics when I get it all said and done.
I just got done mounting the jack handles and lug wrench behind the seat in my SC. I used the plastic mounting kit from a 04 superduty. They were under the hood and mounted to the upper radiator mounts. I was also able to fit my tow strap, jumper cables and shackles. Everything fits great and no rattles.
