Are there any distinguishing characteristics on a ford F1 Jack to help identify it and the Jack handle or lug wrench?
What is the year range for the Jack?
I found this picture via a goggle search, I don't know if it is correct.
My pickup has a place for the Jack and a thumbscrew to hold it in place. I'm assuming the Jack base should have a hole in it for the thumbscrew.
I have the correct jack, handle, thumbscrew, and tools. They are all correct and original. Will post pics and part numbers later tonight for you. There are two handle options.
Here you go guys, sorry for the delay. Took this week off and between hunting / working on leaves ran behind on this thread. All of these tools are original, in original unrestored condition, they are the real deal down to the jack thumbscrew......pm me and I will give you my source, he said it was fine when he sold me this set, but be warned the set is high!
Pic of it sitting in the garage awaiting a cold hunt in the am....
Yesterday I rebuilt the carb, all new / nos parts except the jet. Looks like new and runs like it too, no hesitation, touch start even at 30 degrees. Leaky transmission is next......
Did all those tools come with the 48-50 F-1's or were they an option or a dealer add on? Obviously the jack and handle came with all trucks but the pliers, and wrenches? I know that they did not come with the 53-56 trucks.
My truck came with this wrench (circled) in it, and I can't figure what its purpose is? Doesn't fit the lug nuts, so all I can figure is that it's half of the setup to hand-crank the engine?
Good looking set JB. That appears to be a Mr Stacey kit. The man is dedicated to his work.
Ross, you may be correct on the crank theory. I have not seen a real hand crank for the last of the flathead trucks. Certainly, the tool would need to have an extended shaft to reach.
Ross,
Beginning in 33 or so the crank was 2 piece. My 35 pickup had one similar which doubled a a wheel lug wrench too. Albeit I'm not an expert, but have not seen a later flathead with a ratchet nut on the crank although there is a crank hole through the grill on my 48 grill.
