Ok I'm new here and new with the 64 F 100 I just bought. I have a question.
Sitting in the drivers seat on the floor board on far left of the clutch pedal is a rubber boot that goes to a 1/4" rubber hose.
You push\pump on this boot and and pressure comes out the hose.
The hose is not connected to anything, so what it it for? You can pump the heck out of it though.
And where can a person find a new instument panel and gauges? Some paint the dash and panel and it looks like - you know. What do people do is this case? Sandblast and rechrome or what?
The dash...there were a few differences depending on the truck...most were plain white, some were white with black and natural color in the 2 rounded areas, some were argent color(silver/gray) with chrome upper 'hooded area' over the speedo.
Post a pic of what you have and we can advise...I wouldnt chrome plate the whole thing and leave it all chrome...a bit blinding in the sun....
Danged if I know, but if I had something like that, I would use it to pump washer fluid to my windshield.
Oh, yeah, Welcome to FTE!!
Yea what he said, Don too! Welcome to FTE!
The foot pump is the poor mans pump cheep ad reliable as a hammer. Used until the C series demise in the 90s. One Fire Department I was Chief of, had the truck committee actually specify and buy a 1989 C series E One 150K class a engine with a foot pump like WTH? Did you actually wear bunker boots and try to use one?. One of those head scratcher's.
