Intercooler air leak
I have blown the blue turbo to intercooler hose twice on my late build 2004 6.0. It seems replacement is required every two years. I noticed that there is a second blue hose as the intercooler continues down toward the radiator. I have also heard of an intercooler line splitting. My 6.0 produces an extraordinarily high pitched whistle under long and sustained high rpm loads. Where should I be checking for an air leak from?

How much boost are you seeing? The boots last longer than 2 years unless it blows off from improper installation, a split boot is common when older. The noise can come from a cracked up-pipe flex joint or a split boot.
