After the talk of the IDM mod maybe causing problems I ordered a spare reman on fleabay for 118.75 shipped. It's a 120V. I should have some time to try it Friday so I think I'll plug it in and see if it works.
I don't need to mount it to try it do I? Can I just lay it in there and plug it in or do I need to put it in its place? Just wanna make sure.

I was thinking about doing the same as you Darin. I just wonder about the assurance of actually getting a 120v.
The one I got has the factory ford IDM sticker on it that says 120V FWIW. When i ordered mine I emailed them and specified I wanted a 120 and he said that's what he'd send me.
Speaking of the IDM, not to sound to special ed, but where are they usually mounted? Reason I ask, when I bought my donor, it was missing the driver side fender, and the IDM was just resting on the fuse block. Are there specific mounts holding it in place?

It should be on the driver side fender. There's a couple of bolts that go through the IDM into the fender

He also assured me a 120 but then after I bought it he said I needed a 100. I emailed him back and said I bought it because he said he would deliver a 120. I said a 120 or give me a refund! Sometimes I just don't know!!
I understand now. Ya, I didn't tell him what year of truck or anything, just that I needed a 120. He didn't ask so I didn't think he needed to know. Hopefully gonna get time to try it tomorrow, got a lot of stuff to do, gotta load up the trailer and go racing for the first time this year sat and sun.
First real test with the trailer completely loaded. Kinda excited to see how the truck does, somewhat hilly trip, 160 miles one way.
Have a fun trip and instead of listening to the birds sing, listen to the turbo sing!!
I will be, I LOVE THAT SOUND, lots of time I drive with the pass. window down a little so I can hear it better!!! It's sooo loud now when I couldn't even hardly hear it before!
