Has anyone bought the HID converters from riffraff? They are like 13 bucks a piece, my early 99 lights kinda suck. I was thinking this might be the cheapest way to kinda upgrade my lights.
problem with the early lights is the heavy fluteing on the lens, not the bulbs. I ran higher wattage bulbs in my 99 and wasn't nearly as impressed as I was when I updated to the '03+ lenses. I haven't tried riffraffs conversion, but most other HID conversions I've seen do a pretty poor job in a halogen housing. I'll have to go check out his site.
EDIT: That harness is just to run the newer style bulbs that are in the newer housings, I believe. You'd still need the '05+ headlight housings he sells for $290 and some 9008 bulbs. I don't think it has anything to do with a HID conversion.
yea im retarded i didnt even think about that. i have the 03+ headlights not the old dingy ones. They really arent that impressive to be honest. I was hopeing this allowed us to put in HID ttype bulbs.
call and ask for Todd...he will set you up... i love my 5000k HID's.they are super white bright lights....very easy plug and play set up...no cutting into wires..can go back to stock very easy....
I, on the other hand do have the "dingy ones" on my early 99'. I got bulbs that are supposed to be way brighter and even used a headlight defogger kit. It helped some but I am still not impressed with the results. Which headlights should I get. I know that the newer headlight housings have the more clear lenses. Which ones should I get if I'm not trying to step it up to the $300 HID's. I like the blue/white lighting. My new bulbs don't put out quite that color but for now I think i should just work on the actual housing. Suggestions?
i had the 04's on my truck..PIC in my sig...i liked them but the 05's are a lot better...they have better side of the road light..mine are Harley lights but you can get the plain lights for a little less $$.. as for light bulbs..i love my HID's.. mine are 5000k..a very bright white light..higher then that they turn blue..a lot of guy's like the 6000k..there very blue..
you got to watch after market lights..the chrome flakes and moisture gets in them..i see a 05 set in the classifieds some where..if i find it again ill post it for ya..
as far as HID's..after you deside on a light..call retro and ask for Todd..very nice guy and wont sell you what you dont need...i went to the 05 in my 99..he has the wire kit with HID bulbs that i needed..all plug and play no cutting any wires.. Retro-Solutions LLC Home Page

Ron that's a nice setup you have. Which kit did Todd set you up with? I went to the website but they have a ton of kits listed.
