Truck sits a good bit, now but after a 30 mile trip i noticed fluid all over my back window .I let it sit over night and after a 5 mile trip its still leaking at the front seal.Transmission was rebuilt about 15 ,000 miles ago. all input appreciated?
Grey streak , its the torque converter seal- seems out of the blue (very humid day)it started. Its a weekend truck and the local ford dealer reuilt it 15000miles ago or less. Do these seals go bad often? Truck shifts and does great through all gears.TR
Unless the seal got cut when it was initially installed... perhaps? Typically this will yield an immediate leak but if the damage was small enough, it could be that the seal has shrunk while not in use and this problem reared its ugly head only now. I will say it seems odd but I suppose not impossible.
Yea, it seems unlikly. I wonder if your dealer changed it. It's eazy to change, but the tranny has to go back far enough to get the T/C off. I had to change mine recently, but it was at least 8 years old.
Yes mine is about 8 years old too, and a correction, 45000miles and yes the dealer rebuilt the transmission.Just hadnt had time to tackle this problem yet.Seems the weather and overtime has me at a standstill
