a/c question

a/c question

put new compressor, dryer, orfice tube in. My gauges are old school R12 what kind of pressure should i have on low side set at 55lbs wright now seems to be about wright any one know

I seem to remember something about 60 lbs when I did my R134 conversion.

basically 1 bottle of oil and 2 12oz cans should fill ya.

oh, and the pressure depends on the ambient temperature! the hotter it is outside, the more pressure it is going to show to fill. so 55lbs at 50 degrees will show as 80 at 95 degrees. the actual temp vs pressure is totally different, just giving examples. autozone has a cheap little filler, has a clocking face on it. point the arrow to the outside temp and it will show you the pressure range you need to be in.

you don't fill an A/C system by pressure readings. you fill the system by weight.
you want to put in 3 lbs, or 48 ounces of freon.
