has anyone had problems with the rugged trails, just had a set put stock size e range and they just squirm all over the road. you can cut the wheel and it feels like the truck fishtails, very unnerving at 75mph. Just got back from vacation and swapped out with another set laying around and night and day difference so i know its not the ex. I just cant seem to find a good set of tires
Try a set of the michelin ltx m/s 2 or the bfg ta kos all terrian ; it sounds like you have a tire that has a defect. That will make a beast like the X act that way.
I had two sets of BFG Rugged Trail tires (load range "D") on my '87 F350 crew-cab SRW, and that truck handled like a go-cart. Keep maximum PSI in them ... was 65 PSI with the D's. Why two sets? After getting 96K miles out of the first set, I had to get the same again.
tried the ms2 they were worse tried the bfgs also i have run the bfgs with 80 psi in them didnt change much not sure what i have to do to get a good tire
I would NEVER buy another Goodyear (BADyear) tires, way over priced and no where near worth the money.
I just put a set of 305/70/16E BFG AT TA KOs on and love them.
Got them aired at 65 psi. on the back (max allowed for the tires) and 60 psi on the front. These tires have cured a lot of my wander and handling issues...the only thing that they cannot cure is my lack of funds to get a Hellwig RAS, new springs, new steering box, and new shocks.
Sure seems odd that so many paople have bad experiences with Good Year. I find it hard to beleive only getting 300000 on a set of Silent Armours. I have had three sets now and the lowest mileage on any have been the 27000 on my wife's jeep, and there is still at least 2/3 tread left.
OK for 300k miles of tread life I'll change back...
Typo I know...I had three different sets of GSAs on a Blazer and could never get them balanced...terrible shake and shimmy at 30 mph...so I changed them to Perellis with no issues. Soured me on the Goodyears...
I bet they could do it...but they'd probably cost and TON and ride like crap...
I currently have MasterCraft Courser CT's on the "Toy Truck" and BFG AT TA KO on the "Monster Truck"...both are noisy on the highway but great off road. Which both my trucks see alot of...
