hey guys i need to possibly replace my 4x4 vacuum selenoid (the one just inside the passenger fender), my ford tech recommended that i stick the one from my working truck in my nolonger4x4truck there to diagnose the problem. (diagnosing the lack of 4x4 one part at a time)
anyhow he sent me a diagram of how to remove it but didnt mention anything about how. and by that i mean is there anything i should know about swapping them? is it as simple as pulling the "broken" one out and poping in the new one? or what happens with the vacuum? does the system purge itself?
any tips would be great!
thanks guys 2007 F250

It is just a simple swap. Before that is done, have the lines to the front hubs been checked for leaks? Have the hubs themselves been checked out? The vacuum solenoid is usually the third thing you check.
Just replaced mine, 2003, and did wheel seals and one hub. 4x4 auto/manual type, one would not turn by hand and got harder with ever day and spray of wd-40, soaking, you name it. Dont spray the outside hub handle.
