hi i would like to say sorry now incase someone has already asked this before but kinda in a hurry.
I got a 71' f-100 with a 302 manual 3spd and i am needing a new flywheel. I can't find one anywhere and i was wanting to know if anyone would know of a substitute or know of where to find one. Even the specs for it so i can search and try and match it.
Rockauto.com has several listings, and you can get them through Summit Racing as well. You need a 28oz balance flywheel if that engine is original. They went to a 50oz balance in the early 80s.
Are the ones Summit has 11"? I bought one years ago and it was to small. I had to go junk yard searching for the larger size.
302 introduced Spring 1968. What 302 engine in a 1968/79 Passenger Car (including Boss 302), 1969/79 F100/150, Bronco or Econoline came with anything larger than an 11" clutch?
None.
The flywheel I listed has a 12 3/8" bolt circle pattern-used with an 11" clutch. There's no flywheel listed with a larger bolt circle pattern thru 1979.
Never said mine was larger than 11". The 302 flywheel I purchaced was for I believe a 10-1/2" clutch and it came nowhere near reaching the starter with the truck bellhousing. I think most of the speed shop flywheels will be the smaller size for a car.
