I already have a rebuilt C6 from my other van. It is a known good unit that worked great behind this 351 previously. The only catch is I will have to add a vacuum line for the C6 modulator thingy.
I do like the overdrive since this van is my road trip vehicle, but I need to save up the money to get it rebuilt. The torque of the 351 should be able to let the van cruise at 70 in OD while only turning 2000 RPM or so.
The flexplate I ordered is supposed to fit a 351 with AOD in early 80s trucks, so I think I should be OK. See THIS THREAD
