To old to fix it !

Overhead console went out. Great write up on FTE on how to fix it. Removed the console, removed the circuit board, found the problem..... WOW ! These chips are small and my solder pen felt like a 2X4. Found a guy on ebay that fixes them for $39.00, I am gonna make his day.

There was a time that I could see well enough to do the job but it wasn't today ! I'll let you know how it turns out, WTH it's $39.00 and I gotta know he'll do a better job than I would.

I know what you mean, when I did mine, I had a magnifying lamp, and for reason and that reason only I was able to see well enough to do mine.

A magnifying lamp would have helped for sure. I had a small hand glass but ran out of hands to use it. Really my solder pencil was more of a solder magic marker, just a little large for the job at hand. I was afraid I would burn the traces off the board at a minimum.
