wandering steering??

wandering steering??
Ive searched the threads about the wandering steering problem but i am not sure it is what i am experiencing. at a stop when i make a sharp turn left or right the steering wheel pulls hard in that direction and then continues to pull both ways while going straight. it almost feels as if its skipping or missing gears in the box. funny thing is it does not do this all of the time. i have checked everything under the front end and nothing is loose. Is this the infamous wandering steering problem? Any suggestions?? thanks

I just went through this. Jack up the front end of your truck, lock the hubs individually and turn the wheels. Try to spin the wheels by hand. I had a u-joint on the passenger side that had one cap completely seized. 3-4 hour project if you've had everything apart before and don't forget a part(like I did).
