93 is an IDI InDirect Injection
94 is when the DI injection trucks started.

I have a 94 DI Turbo Diesel.

how do you think the 93 TD compairs to the powerstroke? reliability, preformance, fuel economy wise?

wow. Spell check!

there is other differences.
you cant just say electronic.

the mixing setup is different also in the heads.
I forget what its called, but the IDI basically has a mixing chamber in the head, while the powerstroke is a direct injection.

IDI's are very dependable engines. The turbo versions are nice also.

but power wise, the PSD is much better.

IDI's are a great work horse, but if you wanna try and get some power out of it, you gotta spend some mulah.

I read somebody just recently with 800k on an IDI.

the block is the same, but the rest of the engine is different.

IDI indirect injection
has a mechanical fuel pump that rails the fuel to the cylidners.

Powerstroke is Direct Injection with a HEUI system that uses oil.

Fueling and air is all different.

naturally aspirated would imply a carb, the turbo IDI is the same as a non turbo with a turbo slapped on. when you get to powerstroke, its a whold different animal. i had a IDI non turbo, i couldnt kill it and i tried
