After engine pull I have transmission issues

Just got my 351 W back up and running in my 89 f250. I have a few more bugs to work out. One of the lines off the power steering pump broke during the pull and now after the line was repaired it still isn't working. Still have to do some investigation on that one. but the major issues is that I can't get my transmission to shift while in drive. I can get it to shift if I have it in the "2" position. but that's it. When in drive the motor just rev's right high and never shifts. I also have a small leak from a transmission line right under the radiator and I have a small drip from the transmission. Both of which were not there before the pull. Anyone had any experience with this?

What trans is it? Was the torque converter fully seated in the front pump before the engine was bolted up?

Its an E40D and the torque converter was seated. We had trouble getting it to seat, but after about the third time it did.(i thought atleast) Do you think it's the torque converter? Thanks for any help?

Reading your post again, I think the torque converter is OK. The trans will move the truck when you are in "2" and I assume, R.
Check all the fuses and check that the electrical plugs to the trans are clean and tight.
It might also be a good idea to check for trouble codes, even if no light is on.

That and check the adjustment of the MLPS, you might have damaged it even.
