I just got this thing like 2 weeks ago. I decided to fix the exhaust leak, which lead to me changing the valve cover gaskets since the manifolds were covered in oil. Anyways, finally got the new exhaust manifold, installed it yesterday...now I can't get the damn thing to start.
Is there anything that I might have missed that would be tucked somewhere I wouldn't see it right off the bat? I've checked every connection and every vacuum line I can see but am coming up empty handed.
I smell fuel after cranking, but the spark appears to be sort of weak off the coil. I replaced the coil this afternoon hoping it would fix it but no luck
No codes at all.
I think I stumbled in the right direction. Seems that I have the plug wires in the wrong spots. Now I just need to figure out where #1 is in location to the little vent hole.

Book doesn't show the vent location but should or usually have a #1 molded right on the cap itself? but if not #1 is second one over from the left rear clip going clockwise.
Going clockwise > left Rearmost cap clip> then #3> then #1
GOt it figured out. I was one off on all the wires...and my 351 thinks it's a 302
302 firing order worked, so I'm guessing it's got a 302 cam in it since I went through all the trouble of pulling the upper intake to verify that it is in fact a 351w a few days ago.
Its got a rough'ish idle, so I'm going to get new plugs and see what that does. It's got quite the growl to it when you get on the go pedal though
Yeah, it's running on the older 302 sequence. I'm not complaining since I did get it figured out. Now to finish stripping the hood and get the newer bed on it.
