Has anyone installed the Edelbrock 1483 throttle adapter? Can you send me a pic of it installed?
I have a 1980 Ford F-100 with a 302. Just installed a Edelbrock performer carb and am trying to install the adapter to work with my original linkage...but I am struggling badly. I have followed the instructions that were sent, but something isn't right. If you can please send pictures of yours installed it would be greatly appreciated!!!!
That is the instructions that I have, thanks but that is not what I was looking for. This is NOT an automatic transmission. In fact the manual transmission does not have any connect to this at all.
I read the instructions, and unless I miss-read them, a automatic tranny is what this piece is for. So I guess I am saying you do not need this piece at all if you have a manual tranny correct?
I would agree with you, or I thought that was the case...but without the adapter my cable will not connect. By that I mean that the carb connections sit further in than the old carb. So when I connect my cable to the support bracket I have a big gap between the carb and the throttle cable....
What am I doing wrong? Does anyone have any pictures to show how they connected their cable to an edelbrock carb.
Okay guys, I have taken some pictures of what I have installed and my issues. I can't seem to post them on here but will be happy to email them to you if you are willing to look at them and help.
As seen in the photos, I have installed the adapter as edlebrock's intructions. I have even placed the kick down lever return spring bracket to the corner of the car...which can not be correct. It seems way to close and due to this I am not able to connect the return spring. So something can not be right. Do I need the return spring? My orginal carb had a spring mounted in the rear and connected to the bracket that holds the throttle cable. Do I install taht one also? One spring? Two springs?
Any and all help is extremly appreciated. I apolgoize for my ignorance, I thought this portion of the project would be easier. Again, i will be happy to email the photos if anybody doesn't mind helping!
