I'm putting a set of scorpion roller rockers on my 94 f150 with a 302 and I have read that you need to remove the baffles so the rockers don't hit them. While I have the motor out for other things, I figured I may as well paint the valve covers too, so today I stopped by the machine shop at carquest to see if he could sandblast them for me and he told me that taking the baffles out wouldn't be a good idea and I would end up with oil coming out through the pcv valve and the crank case breather. He said I need to find taller valve covers.
So my question is, can I get away with taller valve covers without raising the upper intake plenum? If someone knows of a pair of valve covers that will clear the rockers, intake, and are baffled would you let me know what they are and where you got them.
I'm looking at just getting a cheap set of tall chromed steel Moroso covers off of Summit right now. Guess I'll have to go set my intakes on one of the motors sitting in my boss' shop and see how much clearance I have for sure.
