why does it seem like my truck runs better when it is cold? (engine temp, not ambiant). i am due for an oil change, but not by much. in fact, i still have a few miles left.
Not sure this has any relevance but cold air being more dense makes it easier for the engine to run. At least for the jet engines I work on plus it could be the reason why people do cold air intakes. Better for combustion.
Just a thought really.
the cold air theory was the first thuing to come to mind, i park in the shade at work, and it is not hot when i leave for work. brownie, i did plan on doing the IPR this weekend. iam assuming it has never been cleaned in this trucks life
Mine runs way better once its warmed up,(pulls a lot harder, less lag) is that just because the oil thins out when it is hot or is something not quite right?
Timing is advanced with cold oil. But on mine I have more noise and less power until EOT comes up a bit. Just the opposite what you are describing. But you have stage 1's and a chip so ....

true, but iam talking about the chip in stock mode. the more i think about it this kinda started after i put in the newest latest gratest CPS.
Not sure though I do know from what a lot of people say our trucks run better at operating temp vice cold. My truck does the same a little lag unless warmed up.
I recently unplugged the EBPV might be right if not that's ok too lol Do notice a bit of difference though truck used to shake when starting it up to leave work but not in the morning after sitting all night no clue what's up with that but she still fires right up and only has 109k on it now.
