I dig that thing, I bet it sends animals and children running for the hills when you pull up in it! Are those rear dually fenders factory? That shell is a classic, the whole truck looks to be in good shape, good score.
hey thanks ya'll. it was a VERRRY good score indeed!!! if we wanted to we could flip it quick for profit. but that just aint gonna happen. we like it too much already!!
the dually was not factory at all. it was a flareside f350 w/ a 360/c6 dana 70 pkg. according to the vin. yep the shell is a classic, we got it from some friends on a trade. his uncle bought it new in 71 for his own ford, lol. it suits the truck just right we figger.
the whole truck is in great shape. runs like a top too!! have to get used to the biggun, after parking there i went behind ta make sure i wasn't stickin out in the street too far, lol.
plans so far are no chrome, mostly because it has been stripped of all badging by po. and likely a nice satin black finish for the whole dadgummed thing, even the topper.
we drive lifted jeeps, so we don't really want to make this into a 4x4, so i'm thinking i may lower it a couple inches.
just lookin at the pic, we also changed the mirror heads. have probably 300 feet of wire pulled out of it sofar and likely 500 of electrical tape too, lol.
today solved a fuel leak at the pump, pulled more goofy wires and did one valve cover before the skeeters got the best of me.

The VIN decodes the series, F35 (F350), the engine size (Y = 360 2V), assembly plant, and serial number only.
The TRANS & AXLE codes are listed separately on the Warranty Plate, which is located on the left door face below the latch.
There is no code in the VIN for what bed the truck has thru 1971.
