AC cuts out

My AC has been cutting out recently. It kicks back in as soon as I throw roughly 10-12+ psi boost at it. Then it stays around for a while and cuts back out (usually at lower rpms) leaving just the vent. It's super frustrating and hot - any ideas? Thanks in advance.

mine does the same thing...it blows warmer at idle than at higher rpm....pulling the ac clutch out and removing one washer helped...be cause prior to that it would blow hot not just warmer.

SpringerPop has a write-up on it....i have to rn to a meeting but i'll try to find it when i get back if noone else does beofre then

My apologies for this duplicate thread. The last few issues I've searched for I haven't been able to find, so I've had to start a new thread. Out of habit (and probably lack of sleep associated with our newborn), I immediately started a thread and skipped the searching part. I feel bad as this was such an easy find, and I will do my best not to duplicate threads again in the future.

I took some photos while doing this adjustment the last time I did it.
SpringerPop's Compressor Clutch Air Gap

My clutch plate is on its last adjustment, as the wear is getting close to excessive. Next time is new-clutch time!

Pop - you got those pictures anywhere else? For some reason the link is not working for me - work may be blocking it? Thanks in advance.

No, sorry, they're only on my personal website.

Were you going to fix the truck at lunch today?

Yeah - I can check it at the house, but I was just gonna see what I'd be working with before I headed home. Looking forward to checking them out. Thanks for volunteering the info though. I was gonna ask for pics, but figured they'd be in the other thread or your gallery if you had any. Thanks again.

This has to be the best site ever. I have been having the same trouble for about the last 2 weeks. Followed Pop's tips and surprise, surprise found my problem.

Thanks Pop and everyone else that contributes to this forum. I have learned more about my truck in the last month from this forum than in the previous 5 years combined.
